World News Today – China and United States must work more closely together to defuse the international crisis and ensure that friction does not damage the common interest.

Vice President Xi Jinping said that China was ahead of his visit to Washington, as quoted by the Shanghai Daily, Tuesday (01/17/2012).

“No matter what changes that affect the international situation, our commitment to developing China-US partnership should not waver,” said Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping in a meeting in Beijing.

“In dealing with major issues concerning the sensitive core interests of each party, of course we must obey the spirit of mutual respect and handle matters wisely. And it does not mean we let bothered anymore,” he said.

Xi Jinping will visit the U.S. at the invitation of U.S. Vice President Joe Biden. “I hope this visit can play a positive role in promoting a cooperative partnership between China and the U.S.,” Xi said in a meeting of officials, diplomats, and scholars in a ceremony commemorating the 40 years the historic visit of U.S. President Richard Nixon to China in 1972.

In an important trip to the U.S., Xi Jinping will be accompanied by Henry Kissinger, national security adviser of President Nixon’s era in 1972.

Relations between China and the U.S. was hit a lot of issues ranging from trade issues, regional policy, the intensity of the military, which became complicated by the U.S. Presidential election campaign.

Xi remains asserted, China and the U.S. can find common ground on a diplomatic crisis, climate change, energy, trade, and the direction of global economic growth.
